Nestled in the scenic Cullipool, Oban, the Atlantic Island Centre is a hidden gem that perfectly marries a welcoming atmosphere with a delightful menu. Patrons rave about the café's cleanliness and the friendly staff, making it an inviting spot for both locals and visitors alike. The menu, though concise, showcases a selection of freshly caught seafood, including the standout langoustines served with a mixed salad, chips, and zesty lemon mayo, all for a reasonable £18.50. Reviewers have praised the homemade soup of the day, served with locally baked Luing sourdough, creating a comforting yet refined dining experience. The café also features locally sourced cakes that receive glowing recommendations, adding a sweet touch to the meal. The setting itself offers lovely views, enhancing the lunch experience. Visitor Andrew Farnworth highlights the café’s warm, collaborative spirit, exemplified by a locals' gathering where contributions for soup and sandwiches were based on what guests wished to pay. Such community warmth, combined with delightful dishes like the haddock goujons and the homemade tart, make the Atlantic Island Centre not just a café but a place to cherish and remember. Their commitment to providing quality, locally sourced food will surely have you returning for more.

I popped in here to ask if anyone knew anyone who could take me on a boat to the Isle of Scarba, so I didn't eat in the cafe. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the cafe was spotless and had plenty of seating, inside and outside. The information centre was good too, very informative about the area. Definitely worth having a look in here if you are visiting the Isle of Luing.

We visit the Oban area virtually every year so we have done most of the usual tourist traps. This year we decided to try something new and took the short ferry ride over and visit this little visitor centre. The welcome was the warmest we had ever had and although the cafe was having a locals get together we were invited in to join them. Soup and sandwiches and cakes with a cup of tea. The cost well you simply made a contribution. It was up to you how much you paid. Awesome. We will definitely come here again.

A lovely lunch enjoyed in the fresh, bright surroundings, with lovely views and served by fantastic staff. Menu is small but perfect for me (see photo!). Locally baked cakes are amazing too. Added bonus was option of a wine with lunch

One of two ‘best meals’ in a long holiday. They were very busy but found us a table and we had an amazing lunch of steamed prawns and salad. Great food, great atmosphere.

I visited here late Summer 2024 whilst having a motorcycle tour of this lovely unspoilt part of Scotland. The coffee and cake were delicious and the service was excellent. Really friendly. I will definitely return next Summer.

We walked from the ferry and were greeted with a warm welcome, great home cooking and baking with - of course - fresh seafood. Can’t recommend enough and please support these wonderful wee islands. Well worth the journey if you’re in the area.
